July 6th: Britney sends a letter of apology to X17 for the umbrella incident.

July 11th: Britney was seen at the Four Seasons crying.

July 12th: Child services warns Britney about her pool. Britney immediately puts a safety fence around it

July 15th: Rumors that Britney is dating her bodyguard. This turn out to be false. He is gay according to reports

July 15th: MTV.com confirms that the 1st single will be released in the 1st week of September.

July 17th: It is confirmed that Britney will host the opening of a new LA night club called ‘LAX’.

July 19th: Rumors about Britney performing at the ‘VMA’ begin.

July 19th: Britney shoots music video for “Gimme More”.
July 20th: MTV confirms Britney will be at the ‘VMA’. However, they don’t confirm whether she’s performing or not.

July 20th: Britney does an interview with OK! Magazine.

July 21st: Britney snaps to a paparazzo after getting to close to her and Sean.

July 24th: Rumors spread that the photoshoot and interview with ‘OK!’ were a disaster.

July 24th: OK! Magazine releases there cover. They release a statement stating that Britney had a meltdown and that the photos could ruin her career. The photos (which leaked months later) tell a whole different story.

July 27th: Britney goes to Las Vegas with the kids. Her bodyguard punches a paparazzo when he fell against Britney; almost causing Sean to fall threw a window. Charges where filed against the bodyguard but no case was ever made.

July 30th: Britney and Kevin are officially divorced!

July 31st: Rumors are that Britney is hosting SNL.

August 1st: Alli speaks out on Britney calling her a ‘wonderful mom’.

August 5th: Britney parties at Winston’s

August 6th: Britney hires Jeff Kwantinez as her new manager.

August 6th: It has been confirmed Britney will appear on the September issue of ‘Allure’ magazine. The editor in chief, Linda Wells says, Britney was on time for the photoshoot but missed 4 scheduled interviews

August 6th: Britney has a minor car accident. She accidentally bumps into a parked car while parking. However, she doesn’t leave behind a note; causing a hit and run.

August 7th: Shooting for Britney’s first music video in 1 year resumes.

August 8th: Britney parties at Winston’s

August 9th: The promotional ad for Britney’s new fragrance ‘Believe’ is made public. Rumors are that a body double was hired for the shoot but Elizabeth Arden confirms that it’s Britney on the ad.

August 9th: Britney is rumored to perform on the opening of the new LA night club “LAX”.

August 12th: Britney parties at Winston’s

August 14th: Rumors arise that Paris Hilton and Britney Spears have recorded a duet.

August 14th: Britney parties at Wolcano.

August 15th: The pictures from the ‘Allure’ cover shoot get released.

August 15th: Britney’s former publicist answers 11 questions regarding Britney.

August 20th: The Britney Spears’ fragrances are on of the leading forces behind Elizabeth Arden’s $69,9 million profit.

August 27th: A new Britney song called ‘Baby Boy’ leaks. This track is rumored to appear on the album.

August 27th: Britney parties.

August 29th: E! News confirms that Britney’s new single is ‘Gimme More’; and that it could leak within one week.

August 31st: The song, ‘Gimme More’ leaks. The song is well received by critics and the media. Within a day it receives 1.5 million radio requests in the US alone.

August 31st: Jive Records confirms the album will be released on November 13th. The name of the album is still unannounced.

August 31st: Britney hosts the opening of the new LA nightclub ‘LAX’.


September
September 1st: Gimme More reaches #1 on major radio stations across the US.

September 5th: DCFS close the investigation against Britney. No evidence is found that she abuses her kids in anyway.

September 6th: Britney confirms VMA performance to X17.

September 7th: MTV also confirms Britney will open at the VMA’s.

September 8th: A video of Britney rehearsing for the VMA’s is made public.

September 9th: Britney opens the VMA’s. The performance is not well received and is panned by critics everywhere.

September 17th: Britney loses primary custody of the kids. This turns out to be untrue.

September 18th: Britney’s new manager quits. Reasons are never made public.

September 19th: Britney parties at Winston’s

September 22nd: Britney is charged with two misdemeanor accounts. One is for a hit and run back from August 6th, the other is for driving without a valid California driver’s license.

September 28th: Britney’s new single ‘Gimme More reaches #1 on iTunes.
